Strategic outsourcing
The outsourcing of a department or parts of a company is occurring more often in the world of business; the reason for this is to ensure more flexibility within an organization and the need to move with the future and its market.
If a company decides to outsource a department or part of the organization, this will have huge implications that adversely affect the people employed. There is sure to be a reorganization where personnel will be made redundant or personnel will move to the outsourced organization, thus new contracts and agreements will need to be made.
Sometimes the employees go to the new organization while the management remains behind thus leaving the need to built-up a new management team.
Often the personnel have to move from one Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) to another and negotiations will have to take place with either the trade unions or the works council or both. It is critical that clear agreements are made e.g. salary scales will have to be adjusted and the compensation and benefits packages will also have to be compared and adjusted.
